Life story
December 19, 1984
Born in Jennings, Louisiana on December 19, 1984.
January 1, 2008

Aaron was born on December 19, 1984 in Jennings, Louisiana.  He was the second twin born to Doug and Melanie, his sister, Alicia, being born first.  Aaron went into distress and when the doctor finally got him out, he wasn't breathing.  The doctor breathed for him.  He was in a neonatal care unit in Lafayette for 9 days, progressing every and after a few days in a regular nursery, he was breathing fine and weighed enough to come home. Seven years later, he became a big brother when Peter was born.

He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church where he served as an alter boy for a few years.  At a very early age in his life, Aaron was filled with the Holy Spririt.  I believe he shared that spirit with everyone he knew.   He believed in God and was committed to family and friends.

Aaron attended school in Jennings and went on to graduated from Jennings High School in 2003. Aaron played baseball, football (#16) and basketball (#3).  He love was for basketball.  He was a good sport, a team leader and played with heart.  To his friends and teammates, he was Huffy. After graduation, he went to college  at McNeese and LSU Eunice.  After a few semesters, he decided to go to work iin the oilfield.  He made good money, bought a truck then bought a mobile home in Lafayette.  He was working in Colorado and he even drove there a couple of times so he got to see some beautiful country.  He was a member at a health club where he would often work out, and played basketball whenever he could find a game.  He decided to go back to school and was attending Louisiana College in Lafayette.  He did well and was going into his third semester.

On January 12, 2008, Aaron passed away- he stopped breathing.  It is the same as the day he was born, not breathing.  God gave him - God took him away.

Aaron loved his family and friends.  He was special to many friends and I have been told by them that they could always go to Aaron and he would always listen and talk to them and made them feel better.  So many people, places and things happened in Aaron's life.  He not only left memories, he left an impression.  His sister said in remembering him that "when he walked into a room, it's like the room lit up".  He made many friends in his short lifetime, friends both young and old.  While serving as best man in a wedding for his friend Ross, as they stood with the priest on the alter, Aaron said, "Father, when I'm up here, I feel like a King" .  I can only imagine what he feels like now.

Aaron was a wonderful son, a son we were proud of and loved very, very much.  We miss Aaron, his smile, his voice, his handsome face.  He lives in our hearts forever.
